Outsider Festival cancelled

Peatbog Faeries

I’m disappointed to hear the news today that the Outsider Festival due to have been held at Rothiemurchus, Aviemore in June, has been cancelled. We really enjoyed the first festival in June 2007 and thought it gave a good mix of great music, comedy, film, environmental debate and outdoors activity.

I tried gorge walking with one of the local outdoors adventure companies and had great fun sliding down waterfalls in a burn in Glen Feshie. I also had fun at the climbing taster session on the climbing wall at Glenmore Lodge.

The music was pure dead brilliant with some of my favourite singers and bands there, including KT Tunstall, Peatbog Faeries, Shooglenifty, Eddie Reader and more. It’s such a shame they tickets sales are so low they’ve cancelled this year’s event.

  1. I spotted a write up of this festival in the Guardian a few weeks back – it looked pretty good. Would have been tempted but already have tickets for the Green man festival in the Brecon Beacons – a great alternative folk festival and in the Mountains!
